Business Operations & Strategy Lead

AI is crossing a threshold. Systems of agents are beginning to do consequential work unattended, for hours at a time. Plasma builds what those systems need: durable memory, shared context, budgets and approvals, and a record of everything that happens — the infrastructure that makes autonomous organizations trustworthy at scale.

We're looking for a generalist who can take ambiguous problems off the founding team's plate and execute at a high level, with AI as their primary lever. This is not a traditional strategy role. You'll be part operator, part chief of staff, part GTM, fluid across whatever the company needs in a given week.

The hiring meta is changing fast. The skills most valuable five years ago are diverging from those most valuable now. We're betting that a sharp generalist with structured thinking, AI fluency, and a great attitude can be one of the highest leverage hires we make. If you've felt limited by restricted AI tooling at your current firm, this is the opposite of that. Using AI in every part of the job is the job.

• External Communications — Own investor decks, executive summaries, and customer-facing materials end to end. Customize for the audience, ship fast, and keep the bar high

• Go-to-Market Support — Help build pipeline through events, targeted outreach, and follow-up. Turn conversations into opportunities

• AI-Native Workflows — Embed AI tools into everything you do. Build internal systems and playbooks that compound. We want to get high on our own supply and use Plasma's primitives across the company

• Founding Team Leverage — Free up the founders to focus on product. The best version of this role makes the rest of the team meaningfully more productive

• 2 to 4 years at a top consulting firm, investment bank, quant fund or hedge fund (ops/strategy role), early-stage startup strategy role, or similarly structured environment

• Genuinely excited about AI. Actively using it, not just familiar with it

• Exceptional attention to detail, especially in written and visual work

• Adaptable and low ego. Startup whiplash doesn't rattle you

• Strong communication and structured thinking. Comfortable distilling complex topics into clean narratives

• Hungry, self-directed, and ready for real ownership early in your career

• Background at McKinsey, Bain, BCG, or similar is a plus, not a requirement. What matters is the work, not where it was done

• Technical foundations are a plus, but not required. A CS, data science, math, statistics, physics, or engineering degree counts. So does builder experience: vibe coding a project, shipping a side project, or otherwise knowing your way around the AI builder stack
